New paper earrings in my Etsy Shop.

These have the look of metal but they are actually paper.  An so light, I include a small rubber fitting for the back of each ear wire to keep them from floating off your ears.

Typography and Words

I've spent much of my career in the world of print, design, and graphic arts ...  making the printed word look interesting and artful.  And I've always taken pleasure in quotes, inspirational phrases, bible verses - kind of words to live by.  So now, I have combined the two, and use my graphic arts skills just for fun!

A sampling of some of my favorites are shown below.  You can see lots more in my Etsy Shop at "Print Me Digitals"  where you can purchase instant, digital downloads.  These images work well for small and large prints on paper or canvas, stationery, note cards, post cards, puzzles, mugs and on fabrics such as for t-shirts, purses, totes, pillows, etc. Use your imagination!  You can print them at home from an inkjet printer or send them off to be printed just like a photograph.

More Happy Trees!

Just putting the finishing touches on a commission piece.  "Melissa's Happy Trees" will be going to it's new home in California Monday or Tuesday.






It's the latest of my Happy Trees and was created to go with the client's decor.  She had specific colors in mind and sent me color swatches.

I finish up by signing the front and added two coats of Golden varnish.  The varnish makes the colors pop, gives it UV protection and makes it easier to dust.

I also sign on the back.

I always ship via UPS and let them do the packing.

Necklaces

A few of my necklaces.

A mix of modern glass beads, lava beads, my handmade paper beads, and upcycled vintage beads.

I usually prefer to make my own focal beads but I couldn't resist these handcrafted, fair trade, fish beads from Indonesia.  I mixed them with wood, glass, brass and a few of my handmade paper beads.

Unique purple and black striped paper earrings dangle 2 1/8" from the top of the gunmetal ear wire.  You won't believe how light these are.

Hand made clay and paper jewels are mixed with wood and glass in this one-of-a-kind necklace.  Hemp cord will adjust up to 34".

The Blues

Handmade by me from watercolor paper.  These measure about 2" long from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the earring.  I hand-paint each piece and seal it to make it water resistant. You won't believe how light these are.   Average price point is $16 a pair.

Just finished this!

 Black, gray, taupe and off white handmade clay and paper beads with a sprinkle of wood and glass beads on an adjustable black suede cord. Item # NC152  for $46.00.

In The Works ...

This is what I'm working on today.   Orange, red and yellow have become one of my favorite color combinations. (In Pantone speak this would be Fiesta and Buttercup.)

I'm putting lots of love into this necklace.  A few of my handmade paper and clay jewels, a little bit of wood and glass on strands of hemp.  Little bits and pieces I've stashed over the past year.
