Fitzhugh and McWherter

Two Henry County / Paris Landing Landmarks

In 2006, not too long after I got my first digital camera, I did a whole series of images on Paris Landing State Park.

"Fitzhugh & McWherter" is the post popular in the series and is still available today as a framed, fine art print or poster.  It's a unique view of the new McWherter Bridge through the old Fitzhugh Bridge at Paris Landing State Park.  I've heard tales of people trying to duplicate the perspective in this image with a single camera shot.  It's impossible, as anyone who has visited this location knows.  Using Adobe Photoshop I took two ordinary photographs and turned them into a collectible piece of art.

I have been using Photoshop since it first came out in the early 90's and had a lot of fun using my skills to create this series.  You can see a few of these images in my online gallery.

"To Plant A Garden" would make a great little canvas or framed print to tuck into an empty spot,

Zunny Sunflower

My latest sunflower titled "Zunny," you know like Sunny but with a "Z." A housewarming gift for a friend of mine. But if you would like something like this - it's on an 8"x10"x1.5" gallery wrapped canvas. The edges are also painted. No frame is necessary, ready to hang. I used Golden varnish to finish it. Varnish makes the colors pop, makes it more sun resistant and easier to clean. My prices range from $ .50 to $1.50 per square inch depending on the painting surface and difficulty. This one would have been $100. Thank you for sharing.

Bead Making

I like to make paper and clay beads. The paper beads, in particular, are really time consuming. But making my own beads gives me complete control over quality and color. It also allows me to make jewelry that is truly original and "one of a kind" as shown in the sample below.

Sunshine

Don't want to go on a rant but ... the sunflower I posted a few days ago is a clip from an original art piece by me titled "Sunshine." I love that people have shared it on Facebook in support of Ukraine. However, I do object to people selling prints of it for profit. Selling prints without my permission is illegal, a violation of copyright laws. If you would like to buy a print, please buy a legal one from me at https://lee-owenby.pixels.com/.../sunshine-lee-owenby.html

Just Couldn't Let It Bee

The "Bee Box" that is.  I started this project back in the Spring when the Covid 19 pandemic began. It was my Quarantine Project and is a tribute to bees, thus the name "The Bee Box."  Little did I know then, there would be a second quarantine and that my husband would have knee surgery.  So I had a lot more time at home.

I promise this is the final chapter for the "Bee Box".

For more pictures of this project, please visit my previous post.

My Quarantine Project

I bought this jewelry box at a yard sale just before COVID 19 started. Didn't know what I was going to do with it - said the woman who makes jewelry and has way too much of it.
I did think - just to store jewelry in it -but that might be too boring.  So ....

this is what I have started.  I plan to cover the whole thing in whimsical bees, sunflowers, dragonflies, frogs, snails and anything else I can think of.  These sides are not finished yet.

Check back to see how it goes.
